Vasseur noted that continuous external speculation has severely compromised internal focus, with approximately half of all press questions targeting Horner rather than on-track performance. The Italian outfit is currently locked in a close battle for third place in the constructors` championship.

When asked by journalists whether he would contemplate collaborating with Horner in the future, Vasseur stated that reporters should direct that inquiry to his assistant. The remark served as an overt reference to the administrative turmoil that led to Horner`s high-profile departure from Red Bull Racing in July 2025. That exit concluded a turbulent eighteen-month interval sparked by an employee who accused Horner of sexual harassment and coercive behavior. Red Bull dismissed the allegations through two internal inquiries, but subsequent instability prompted the departure of several high-ranking personnel, including chief technical officer Adrian Newey.
Red Bull officially severed ties with Horner following the 2025 British Grand Prix without issuing a formal public explanation. Industry sources indicated that the two parties resolved the termination through a financial settlement valued at approximately sixty million euros. In an interview published by The Times, Horner declared that Ferrari represented the only Formula 1 organization he would agree to manage without holding an equity stake. Describing the Italian manufacturer as the ultimate dream, he characterized the historic outfit as the sleeping giant of international motorsport.
The public dispute arrives as Ferrari confronts severe operational hurdles regarding on-track vehicle pace. Although the chassis demonstrated superior cornering balance following extensive regulatory overhauls, the internal combustion engine continues to suffer noticeable power deficits against powerplants fielded by Mercedes and Red Bull.

Leclerc conceded critical track position despite securing second place during qualifying sessions earlier in the weekend.
