BUTEX Career Fair 2026: 27 Top Textile Giants Offer Jobs to Graduates

The Bangladesh University of Textiles (BUTEX) successfully hosted "Career Fair 2026" on Thursday, April 23, in a vibrant and festive atmosphere. Organized by the BUTEX Career Club at the university’s central playground, the day-long event aimed to bridge the gap between textile engineering students and the country‍‍`s leading industrial sectors. The Institute of Textile Engineers and Technologists (ITET) provided full cooperation for the event, which featured the participation of 27 top-tier industrial groups.

Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Md. Julhas Uddin officially inaugurated the fair at 9:00 AM. Shortly after the opening, the campus became a hub of activity as aspiring graduates and final-year students flocked to the corporate stalls. Armed with their resumes, students engaged in direct discussions with corporate representatives to gain insights into various career paths, internship opportunities, and the current demands of the global textile market. Several companies conducted on-the-spot interviews, offering immediate recruitment prospects for talented candidates.

The fair featured 27 leading organizations, including prominent names like Centro Tex, Swiss Chroma, Babylon Group, Ha-Meem Group, Oeko-Tex Group, Urmi Group, Purbani Group, Epillyon, AKH Group, and Pacific Jeans. The presence of these giants allowed students to explore a wide range of fields, from merchandising and production to quality control and chemical management. Corporate representatives praised the technical proficiency of BUTEX students while emphasizing the importance of soft skills and leadership in the evolving industrial landscape.

A key highlight of the event was a panel discussion held at 11:00 AM titled "How Geopolitics is Shaping the Textile Industry and Strategic Moves for Fresh Graduates." The session featured experts like Tareq Amin, Founder and CEO of Textile Today Innovation Hub, and high-ranking officials from Swiss Chroma, Fashion Power Group, and Centro. The discussion focused on how global political shifts and economic fluctuations are impacting the supply chain and what new graduates need to do to stay competitive. In the afternoon, a workshop led by industry veterans provided students with practical guidance on CV writing and professional etiquette.

In his concluding remarks at the closing ceremony, Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Md. Julhas Uddin promised to institutionalize the event, stating, "We will ensure that the Career Fair is organized every year on an even larger scale." Special guests from ITET, including Engineer Ehsanul Karim Kaiser and Engineer Md. Enayet Hossain, lauded the Career Club for executing such a massive event despite the challenging global economic climate. Tanbirul Islam Jiyan, President of the BUTEX Career Club, and Secretary Shahriar Alam Pavel expressed their gratitude to the sponsors, including Centro Tex and Babylon Group, for making the "dream event" a reality for the students.
