Saudi Arabia has sent its defense minister to the Iranian capital for high-level diplomatic talks. Prince Khalid bin Salman is heading the official Saudi delegation that arrived in Tehran on Monday.

The visit brings together representatives from countries party to the Makkah Agreement and senior Iranian officials. This engagement aims to address regional tensions and explore peaceful resolutions to current crises.

Saudi Deputy Minister for Public Diplomacy Ambassador Rayed Krimly announced the visit on X. He confirmed that Prince Khalid is joined in Tehran by prominent security and military figures from allied nations.

Pakistani Army Chief Field Marshal Asim Munir and Turkish Intelligence Head Ibrahim Kalin are participating in the meetings alongside the Saudi delegation.

The visiting officials are scheduled to hold discussions with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian and Mohsen Rezaei, Secretary-General of the Supreme National Security Council of Iran.

According to Ambassador Krimly, the diplomatic mission forms part of continuous efforts by Makkah Agreement pact states to lower regional escalation. The initiative seeks to encourage direct dialogue and promote diplomatic solutions.
