Donald Trump has reiterated his endorsement of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, urging voters on Wednesday to support the incumbent leader and finish military operations against Iran. In a statement posted on his Truth Social platform, Trump directed attention back to a formal endorsement letter he initially published on October 18.
Trump praised Netanyahu as an outstanding warrior prime minister. He also pointed to their close working relationship during military operations directed at Iran.
As everyone is aware, including the enemy, Bibi and I have had a great relationship in winning together, Trump wrote, citing a United States military campaign he identified as Operation Epic Fury.
Trump asserted that Iran has suffered severe losses to its military capabilities. He claimed that the Iranian navy and air force have been destroyed, leaving the country’s military and economy in complete disarray. Iranian inflation has reached 301 percent, while a naval blockade has successfully halted all oil exports.
The former US president claimed that two tiers of Iranian leadership, spanning both military and civilian sectors, have been eliminated. Urging Israeli citizens to cast their ballots accordingly, he wrote that voters must back Netanyahu for prime minister. We have to finish the job that we started, he added.
In the October letter to the Israeli public, Trump described Netanyahu as both a great warrior prime minister and an even greater partner for peace in confronting Tehran. He referenced decades of threats directed at Israel and the United States by Iranian authorities.
Trump argued that Iran would eventually have acted on its hostile rhetoric if left unchecked. He stated that the country has been systematically destroyed, both militarily and financially. He warned that the United States would be forced to take over the military effort directly if Israeli voters choose a different leader.
If Israel has the wrong leader, which would be anyone other than Bibi, America will have to do this work ourselves, and I am not inclined to do so, Trump wrote in the published text.
Commending Netanyahu for maintaining his resilience in the face of domestic and international opposition, Trump stated that the Israeli leader has grown stronger under pressure. He argued that Netanyahu represents the specific kind of strategic partner that Washington expects from Israel.
Trump concluded his October endorsement with a direct appeal to the Israeli electorate regarding the upcoming election. Bibi Netanyahu will never let you down, he declared.
