Multiple casualties were reported on Tuesday after a wave of overnight drone and missile attacks launched by both sides across the border.
In the Russian border region of Bryansk, two people died and two others suffered serious injuries. Regional head Yegor Kovalchuk stated that the victims were targeted when a Ukrainian drone struck a minibus belonging to an agricultural enterprise in the village of Borshchovo.
Further south in Belgorod, another person was killed and 14 others sustained injuries. Regional Governor Alexander Shuvaev confirmed the casualties on the Russian social media platform Max, describing the incident as a large-scale overnight drone attack.
Across the border in Ukraine, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported that four people were killed and 22 injured due to Russian shelling in the Dnipropetrovsk region. He shared the figures on Telegram, stating that the bombardment occurred during the previous evening.
Zelenskyy said that Moscow deployed approximately 1,600 guided aerial bombs, 48 missiles including ballistic types, and nearly 2,300 attack drones against Ukrainian territory over the past week. This is how Russia responds to diplomacy and de-isolation, he said, while stressing that international backing for Ukrainian defenders must not decline.
The Ukrainian leader urged European countries to deliver promised interceptors for Patriot air defence systems. He also called for continued backing for combat aviation to counter jet-powered Shahed drones.
Ukraine’s State Emergency Service reported that 10 individuals, including three emergency responders, were wounded in separate strikes across Kharkiv and Vinnytsia. Six of those injuries occurred when a Russian projectile hit a residential five-story building in Vinnytsia.
The agency said that the bombardments ignited multiple blazes. Emergency crews faced repeated strikes while attempting to extinguish the flames, resulting in the total destruction of a fire engine tanker.
The Russian Defense Ministry stated that its forces continued night operations targeting logistics hubs, port facilities, and vessels delivering supplies to Ukrainian troops. Strikes in Kharkiv hit the Epicentr logistics centre, a distribution centre, and the Vasyshchevo logistics terminal.
Moscow claimed these facilities stored military or dual-use goods for the armed forces. The ministry also reported that a dry cargo ship carrying supplies toward the port of Chornomorsk was hit at sea.
Russian air defence units intercepted and destroyed 532 Ukrainian fixed-wing drones across 25 regions during the night, according to the defense ministry. None of the battlefield claims from either side could be independently verified.
