Grameenphone has officially appointed Andreas Hogberg as its new Chief Strategy and Transformation Officer (CSTO). The corporate appointment became effective on June 1, 2026, according to an official statement from the leading telecommunications provider. In his new role, Hogberg will spearhead the company`s strategic transformation initiatives and oversee the execution of its comprehensive five-year business blueprint.Driving innovation and securing sustainable growth will remain his primary focus.
Company executives noted that Hogberg will play a critical role in strengthening Grameenphone`s competitive capabilities and enhancing overall operational efficiency. He brings more than 21 years of extensive international experience within the Telenor Group across finance, technology, and shared services sectors in the Nordics, South Asia, and Southeast Asia. Prior to this deployment, he served as the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Telenor Pakistan from June 2023 to December 2025. Additionally, he continues to serve as an active board member of the Telenor Procurement Company.
Welcoming the appointment, Grameenphone Chief Executive Officer Yasir Azman stated that the Bangladeshi telecom market presents a complex yet highly promising landscape. He emphasized that strategic corporate realignment has become vital in the modern artificial intelligence era. Hogberg completed his academic foundations at the Norwegian School of Economics and subsequently finished executive management programs at leading global institutions including INSEAD and the Stockholm School of Economics.
