Airstrikes and Heavy Clashes Strike Frontlines Across Multiple Yemeni Provinces

Airstrikes destroyed a Houthi missile launcher on Mount Ba’dan in Ibb province, Al-Jumhuriya TV reported. This was the second such strike in the province in less than 24 hours.

The broadcaster also reported airstrikes targeting Houthi positions on the outskirts of the villages of al-Sarari and Dhi al-Barah, southeast of Mount Saber in Taiz province.

Meanwhile, Aden TV reported intense, ongoing clashes between government forces and Houthi rebels on the Lahj front. The fighting centered in the Maqaterah, al-Sawalah and al-Zariq areas.

Airstrikes targeted Houthi reinforcements in Naqil al-Saha within Maqaterah in Lahj province, the channel stated. Forces from the Fourth Military Region also struck a Houthi vehicle carrying a 23 mm anti-aircraft gun on the Maqaterah front, destroying both the vehicle and the weapon.

Dozens of Houthi fighters killed or wounded in clashes on the Maqaterah fronts were brought to Khalifa Hospital in the city of Turbah, according to Aden TV reports.

In a separate incident, the channel reported that eight civilians, including children, were killed or injured in a Houthi missile strike. The attack hit the al-Athawir area of Hayfan district in Taiz province.

Yemeni armed forces conducted 322 operations, according to the broadcaster. These actions killed 64 Houthi fighters and destroyed or disabled 16 military vehicles.

Yemeni government forces have been conducting an operation dubbed "Dawn of Yemen" since Oct. 5. The campaign aims to regain control of state institutions and retake the capital, Sanaa, from the Houthis.

Fighting between government forces and the Houthis resumed in July. The renewed violence has killed and wounded thousands of people and displaced more than 250,000, according to UN reports.

The renewed clashes ended a period of relative calm that had prevailed since April 2022, worsening Yemen’s humanitarian crisis.

Yemen has remained engulfed in civil war since September 2014, when the Houthis seized Sanaa and several provinces. A Saudi-led coalition intervened in March 2015 in support of the internationally recognized government.
