At least six Palestinians were killed and 10 others injured, including five university students, in Israeli attacks across the Gaza Strip on Sunday, medical sources said.
Three Palestinians lost their lives and others were injured in an Israeli strike on the Islamic University campus in Gaza City. The attack happened shortly after five students were injured, some critically, when an Israeli drone strike targeted a gathering of students on campus, the university said in a statement.
The university suspended administrative and academic activities at its Gaza City premises. The strike caused panic among students and displaced Palestinians sheltering on campus after their homes were destroyed during the prior war.
In northern Gaza, an Israeli strike on a gathering of civilians along Al-Rashid coastal road in the northwest of the enclave wounded several Palestinians, medical sources reported without specifying their number. A Palestinian was also hospitalized with a gunshot wound to the foot after Israeli forces opened fire in the Al-Faluja area west of Jabalia refugee camp.
In southern Gaza, two Palestinians were killed and three others injured in an Israeli strike in al-Mawasi, west of Khan Younis, according to medical sources. A woman sustained moderate injuries from Israeli gunfire in Khan Younis.
Israeli artillery shelled areas east and south of Khan Younis, while gunboats fired bullets and shells toward its coast, witnesses said. In central Gaza, a 33-year-old man was killed in an Israeli strike east of Deir al-Balah.
At dawn on Sunday, Israeli forces carried out two demolitions of homes and buildings in areas under their control in the Al-Tuffah neighborhood of eastern Gaza City, causing two large explosions, local sources said.
Medical sources described the latest violence as violations of last year’s ceasefire agreement. Gaza’s Health Ministry stated that Israeli ceasefire violations have killed 1,551 people and injured 5,573 others since October 2025.
Since October 2023, Israel’s war in Gaza has killed more than 74,000 Palestinians and wounded over 175,000. The conflict has also caused widespread destruction to about 90 percent of the territory’s civilian infrastructure.
