Israeli Forces Set Homes Ablaze and Shell Towns in Lebanon

Israeli forces set fire to homes in the town of Haddatha in the Bint Jbeil district on Wednesday morning. The official news agency reported the arson attack without specifying the number of houses damaged or the total extent of the destruction.

Artillery shelling targeted several other areas in the south. The strikes hit Baraachit in the Bint Jbeil district, along with Mansouri and Wadi Zibqin in the Tyre district. Local authorities reported no immediate casualties from the bombardment.

In the Hasbaya district, an Israeli drone dropped stun grenades near farmers picking olives around the Halta farm on the outskirts of Kfar Shuba. No injuries were reported.

Israeli drones also flew at low altitudes over Beirut and its southern suburbs. Similar flights were recorded over the Zahrani area in southern Lebanon and the Iqlim al-Kharrub region in the Chouf district of Mount Lebanon.

These military operations, demolitions and arson attacks continue despite a framework agreement signed in June 2026. That agreement provides for the gradual withdrawal of Israeli forces from Lebanese territory.

Lebanese authorities stated that Israeli military operations have killed nearly 4,400 people and wounded more than 12,400 since March 2. The conflict has displaced more than 1 million people. Israel continues to occupy areas of southern Lebanon, with some occupations lasting for decades and others dating from the 2023-2024 war, while forces advanced roughly 10 kilometres into Lebanese territory during the latest conflict.
