Former Czech Coach Banned for Life for Filming Players

UEFA, the governing body of European football, has imposed a lifetime ban on former Czech women‍‍`s national team coach Petr Vlachovsky for secretly recording private videos of female football players in the locker room. The severe disciplinary action effectively bars him from participating in any football-related activities globally for the rest of his life. According to reports from Czech media, the final decision followed his criminal conviction in May 2025.

He previously faced charges for placing hidden cameras in the dressing rooms of his own club, FC Slovacko.

At that time, Vlachovsky confessed to the heinous act and expressed remorse for his actions. A Czech court initially sentenced him to a one-year suspended prison term and a domestic five-year coaching ban. However, the UEFA Control, Ethics, and Disciplinary Body (CEDB) evaluated the severity of his misconduct and chose to implement a permanent, lifetime exclusion from the sport.

UEFA‍‍`s official statement confirmed that a special inspector was appointed to investigate the initial allegations.

The investigation uncovered definitive evidence of his ethical transgressions. UEFA viewed his actions as a gross violation of football’s core ethical standards and a direct assault on the privacy and dignity of his players. The organization explicitly stated that such conduct from a head coach is completely intolerable and inexcusable. This ruling prevents Vlachovsky from ever holding a coaching or administrative role in football at any level, whether domestic or international.

Permanent bans for such misconduct are rare and send a clear message to the sporting community.

This decisive action by UEFA serves as a stern warning against those who violate the privacy and safety of athletes. Vlachovsky‍‍`s appalling behavior previously sparked widespread condemnation and anger within the Czech football community. With this ultimate disciplinary ruling by UEFA, the case has now reached its final conclusion.
