Ex-Teacher Trapped by AI Vigilante Arrested in France

A retired French physical education teacher has been placed in official judicial custody after being caught making explicit sexual propositions online to what he believed was an underage girl. The entire interaction was orchestrated by a high-profile digital content creator who deployed sophisticated artificial intelligence tools to target suspected online predators. The suspect fell victim to a highly coordinated digital sting operation before the recorded footage was widely circulated on major streaming platforms.

The sixty-six-year-old former educator turned himself in to law enforcement in eastern France following the broadcast.

The suspect, identified by judicial officials as Dominique B, surrendered after realizing his video conversation with the simulated persona had been viewed by hundreds of thousands of people. During the forty-minute livestreamed interaction, the online influencer, operating under the pseudonym "FINNYZYY," used real-time AI face-swapping software and voice modulation to masquerade as a fourteen-year-old adolescent. Although the visual distortion required the influencer to block his chin to hide facial hair, the cosmetic adjustments were convincing enough to thoroughly deceive the retired official.

The live feed managed to attract over forty thousand concurrent viewers in real time, eventually garnering roughly one million aggregate views across public forums. Throughout the chat, Dominique B openly suggested arranging an in-person meeting at Paris’s Parc des Princes stadium and requested explicit personal photographs from the digital persona. When the operator repeatedly explicitly reminded him of the fictional girl‍‍`s minor status, the suspect dismissed the age barrier by asserting that much younger individuals frequently engage in physical intimacy.

Several alarmed internet users captured segments of the broadcast and flagged the material on Pharos, the official digital whistleblower portal operated by the government of France. Before state cyber units could track his physical location, the suspect presented himself directly at a local regional police office. The state prosecutor in Vesoul subsequently confirmed that the individual faces serious criminal charges involving sexual solicitation of a minor under the age of fifteen and seeking illicit pornographic material. The suspect previously held a notable administrative role within the National Union of School Sports.

The unusual case has ignited fierce debates regarding the legalities and ethics of citizen-led digital entrapment operations. Prominent legal experts have questioned whether online vigilantes are driven by genuine civil duty or simply seeking corporate algorithmic engagement, noting that legitimate files should be delivered directly to authorities without public distribution. Legal unions also voiced concern that rogue operations run the risk of inadvertently contaminating or derailing ongoing, official state investigations into targeted suspects. However, the intervention received verbal backing from several political factions advocating for broader societal mobilization against cyber exploitation.
