Yemeni Army Reports Over 800 Military Operations Against Houthi Forces

The Yemeni military carried out more than 800 operations against Houthi forces. Military spokesman Majed al-Nazili released the figures in a statement on X.

The operations formed part of an initiative designated as Operation Dawn of Yemen. Al-Nazili stated that the missions targeted Houthi positions, troop reinforcements, and military equipment.

Fighter jets, unmanned aerial vehicles, and artillery units supported the armed forces during the offensive. These strikes destroyed or damaged 50 military vehicles and items of equipment, including missile launchers.

In the southwestern province of Taiz, government troops and allied Popular Resistance fighters repelled Houthi attacks. They also targeted group positions and movements in the area.

Military units launched attacks against Houthi positions and reinforcements in Marib and Al-Jawf provinces. The army reported ongoing operations by government-aligned forces on both southern and western fronts.

The military stated that its forces took precautions to protect civilians and civilian infrastructure during the engagements. The Houthis did not immediately comment on the military claims.

Yemen has suffered conflict since 2014 when the Houthis seized the capital, Sanaa, and territory across the country. A Saudi-led coalition intervened in 2015 to support the internationally recognised government.

That intervention triggered years of combat and produced a severe humanitarian crisis. A renewed escalation between government forces and the Houthis began in July after a 2022 ceasefire collapsed.
