Fifteen-year-old Rajasthan Royals prodigy Vaibhav Suryavanshi has become an absolute nightmare for bowlers in the ongoing IPL season. The teenage opener is effortlessly smashing some of the world`s fastest bowlers out of the park. He played a superhuman innings of 93 runs off just 38 balls while chasing a massive 220-run target set by the Lucknow Super Giants. The broader cricket world remains stunned by his explosive stroke play.
Lucknow coach Justin Langer has now joined the growing list of Vaibhav`s admirers.
Rajasthan secured a dominant seven-wicket victory at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur. Langer drew upon his 35 years of cricketing experience during the post-match press conference. He explicitly stated that while he had seen many great players, he had never witnessed such destructive batting from a kid this young. The Australian coach described Vaibhav`s ability to effortlessly hit sixes against pacers like Mitchell Starc and Anrich Nortje as simply breathtaking.
Langer warned that once the teenager fully learns the craft of batting, global bowlers will face severe trouble. He noted that the terrified facial expressions of the opposing bowlers clearly revealed exactly how dangerous Vaibhav had become.
Vaibhav currently wears the prestigious Orange Cap as the highest run-scorer in only his second IPL season.
His astronomical strike rate of 236.32 is generating massive discussions across the sporting community. The young batter has already smashed 53 sixes throughout the current season and hit 10 of those massive sixes against Lucknow alone. He now stands remarkably close to the historic record of 59 sixes in a single season, originally set by Chris Gayle for Royal Challengers Bangalore back in 2012. The Indian southpaw has a golden opportunity to surpass Gayle with one Rajasthan match still remaining.
Cricket analysts and fans are aggressively demanding his immediate inclusion in the senior Indian national team.
Chief selector Ajit Agarkar absolutely refuses to make any hasty decisions regarding the youngster. Agarkar acknowledged Vaibhav as a rare talent but insisted the selection committee will not burden him with the immense pressure of the senior squad just yet. The teenager has been placed in the India `A` team to mature further for the international stage.
