Chilling details have emerged from the national capital of India following a brutal sexual assault inside a commercial vehicle. The incident occurred on May 12 along the Sultanpuri route when a woman was trapped inside a private vehicle. Delhi Police have since arrested the bus driver and the conductor, both residents of neighboring Uttar Pradesh, and placed them under judicial custody following a local court order.
The victim is a mother of three young daughters and is the primary caregiver for her ailing husband.
According to her official statement to investigators, the victim had traveled to the Sultanpuri area to assist her brother with relocating his household. After completing the work, she took local transit to the Saraswati Vihar bus stand to board a vehicle heading home. While waiting at the station, a private transport bus stopped in front of her, and an individual inside shoved her deep into the vehicle under the pretext of answering her query about the time.
The perpetrators covered her mouth to muffle her screams and repeatedly assaulted her when she attempted to resist. The first individual dragged her to the rear seats and raped her while the vehicle was in motion. Later, the driver stopped the bus near the Nangloi railway station and joined in the sexual assault. The victim tearfully pleaded with her attackers for mercy, telling them about her three young daughters waiting at home and her sick husband, even promising not to report the crime to the police, but her pleas were ignored.
Following the assault, the driver and several unidentified accomplices fled the scene, leaving the victim bleeding inside the stationary vehicle. Fortunately, the conductor remained near the bus, enabling the victim to call emergency services and help police apprehend him at the spot. Law enforcement personnel rushed the bleeding woman to a local government hospital for an immediate medical evaluation, as this vicious Delhi moving bus gang rape once again intensified national concerns regarding women`s safety.
