Israeli troops entered a West Bank city on Monday with two bulldozers and demolished a home in the al-Naqqar neighborhood. The military operation targeted the property of Naim Abu Shihab.
Local sources reported that soldiers ordered the owner to evacuate the house before destroying it. The operation was carried out because the property lacked a building permit.
Confrontations erupted in the neighborhood during the raid. Israeli forces opened fire and deployed tear gas canisters along al-Malaab Street, though local sources confirmed no one was hit by gunfire.
The Palestine Red Crescent said its medical crews treated three people at the scene for tear gas inhalation.
Military personnel also damaged sidewalks in the central market area of the city, local reports said.
Earlier on Monday, the Palestinian Colonization and Wall Resistance Commission released figures on regional violence. The body documented 13 attacks by Israeli forces and settlers against farmers and their land across four West Bank governorates.
The occupied West Bank, including East Jerusalem, has seen a rise in military raids and settler violence. This increase follows the start of the conflict in the Gaza Strip in October 2023.
Incidents documented across the territory include killings, detentions, home demolitions, and the destruction of other structures. Attacks have also involved burning mosques and vehicles, bulldozing farmland, and blocking farmers from reaching their fields.
These actions have displaced Palestinian communities. The developments coincide with ongoing illegal settlement expansion in the region.
