Two more Palestinians died from their injuries following Israeli strikes in the Gaza Strip. A medical source at Al-Shifa Hospital in western Gaza City confirmed the deaths to reporters.
One man died from wounds sustained several days earlier in the al-Blakhiyah area of the Al-Shati refugee camp. Sara Abu Jiyab also died from injuries inflicted during an earlier strike on Gaza City.
Witnesses said Abu Jiyab was a medical student at the Islamic University of Gaza. She had been wounded when an Israeli airstrike hit the campus in late October.
On Friday, the Israeli army opened heavy gunfire toward the Al-Mawasi area. This coastal zone lies northwest of Rafah in the southern sector of the enclave.
Witnesses on the ground reported that some of the bullets reached tents sheltering displaced Palestinians. These incidents occurred alongside continued violations of a ceasefire agreement.
The ceasefire has been in effect in Gaza since 10 October 2025. Local authorities have recorded numerous breaches since that date.
Gaza’s Health Ministry reported that these violations have killed 1,602 Palestinians, while another 5,799 people have sustained injuries over the same period.
Wider hostilities have caused immense devastation across the enclave since October 2023. The broader conflict has killed more than 74,000 Palestinians.
Medical authorities said over 175,000 individuals have been wounded since the war began. The military campaign has also destroyed vast amounts of civilian infrastructure across the territory.
