Occupier Terrorism Growing Bolder Under World Indifference: Erdogan

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said on Tuesday that violence against Palestinians is escalating due to international apathy. Speaking at the Istanbul Congress Center during the opening ceremony of the TRT World Forum 2026, he delivered sharp criticism of global institutions.

Occupier terrorism is actively seeking to forcibly displace Palestinians from their ancestral land, according to the Turkish leader. He stated that this aggression grows more brazen by the day under the indifferent gaze of the modern world.

International organisations meant to guarantee peace and security are choosing to watch from the sidelines. Erdogan compared the ongoing atrocities in Gaza to historical tragedies in Rwanda and Srebrenica. These institutions take no concrete action other than voicing concern over human tragedies, he added.

The Turkish president pointed to specific figures regarding the occupied territory. More than 3,000 attacks and violations targeting Palestinians in the West Bank were recorded in October alone.

The October 2025 Gaza Peace Agreement, which Türkiye helped broker, is currently not being implemented. Erdogan accused critics of a blatant double standard.

Those who turn into lions when it comes to Türkiye suddenly become paper tigers when the issue is the genocide network, he said. He said that the foundational international principle that agreements must be kept is being ignored.

Erdogan warned that global and regional developments show the current system has raised the white flag of surrender. The world is passing through a turbulent period defined by intense power rivalries and the erosion of rules.

Global governance mechanisms are proving completely inadequate in resolving major challenges. All norms and principles of the international system are being trampled underfoot today, he stated.

Türkiye has committed its entire self, heart and soul, to building a fairer world. Ankara is doing everything in its power to ensure the peaceful resolution of crises stretching from Palestine to Yemen, Sudan, and Ukraine, Erdogan added.

Despite attempts to derail the country through dirty campaigns, Türkiye will never back down from its stance. He stressed that the nation will courageously voice what it believes to be right and defend what is just.

Erdogan said that people guided by reason and conscience share the responsibility to bring this crisis to an end through fair solutions.
