US Envoys Witkoff and Kushner Join Ukraine Talks in Oslo

American special envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner will join diplomatic talks in Oslo on Tuesday. The high-level meeting includes Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky alongside the leaders of Norway and Finland, according to the Norwegian government.

Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Store confirmed the participation of the American officials. He stated that Ukraine had requested the presence of both Witkoff and Kushner at the negotiating table.

Store expressed satisfaction regarding their inclusion. Witkoff will travel to the Norwegian capital to take part in person, while Kushner will join through a remote link.

Finnish President Alexander Stubb will also take part alongside Prime Minister Store. Norway and Finland previously hosted similar diplomatic initiatives aimed at resolving the conflict.

Store said the gathering aims to guide diplomatic efforts onto a more constructive path. The meetings form part of a broader series of international discussions held across multiple nations.

Aside from the scheduled political talks, the Ukrainian leader has a full itinerary in Oslo. Zelensky is set to meet with the King of Norway and visit the Norwegian parliament. Media reports previously indicated potential next steps following the Oslo meetings.

According to an anonymous US official cited by Axios, Witkoff plans to travel to Russia after the Oslo sessions. The report stated that he hopes to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin to present new ideas.

The White House did not immediately respond to a request for confirmation regarding the reported travel plans to Russia.
