Mourinho Decries Alleged Bullying of Vinicius in La Liga

Real Madrid manager Jose Mourinho has strongly criticized the recurring rough treatment and alleged bullying directed at Brazilian winger Vinicius Junior following a hard-fought two to one victory over Espanyol.

The incident occurred during the opening moments of the La Liga fixture when opposing defender Alex Calatrava challenged Vinicius from behind. Real Madrid players immediately appealed for a disciplinary card, but the referee chose not to issue a major penalty during the sequence.

Espanyol later equalized following an opening goal by Jude Bellingham, before substitute Carlo Espi secured the winning goal for the visitors in the ninetieth minute.

Speaking to reporters after the fixture, Mourinho pointed out that the targeted pressure on the forward has become a systematic issue across various matches. He noted that while the player must maintain emotional control, the ongoing hostility from opponents and crowds crosses acceptable boundaries.

What remains unclear is whether sports authorities will review the initial challenges made during the early minutes of the match.

Mourinho emphasized that modern society actively works against bullying in all forms, yet similar behaviors remain visible within competitive sports environments. The coaching staff intends to continue preparing the player to handle high-pressure situations effectively as the season progresses.
