At the Trishal university campus, dedicated to the poet, a day-long cultural program is honoring his immense contributions to Bengali literature. Prime Minister Tareq Rahman has officially declared this year as ‘Nazrul Year’ to commemorate the milestone. From his vocal opposition to colonial rule to his efforts against social division, Nazrul’s pen remained an uncompromising weapon for justice.
Kazi Nazrul Islam was not just a poet; he was a courageous voice against the constraints of his era. His core belief, that nothing is greater than humanity, remains as relevant today as it was in his own time.
