The International Organization for Migration, with backing from Turkish disaster management authorities, has erected new tents at the Daba Naira camp in Tawila. However, officials note that the current supply of shelter is negligible compared to the needs of more than 665,000 displaced people residing in the area. The arrival of seasonal rains threatens to turn low-lying grounds into waterlogged swamps, leaving families vulnerable to harsh weather conditions.
Regional humanitarian coordinators indicate that local authorities have appealed to international donors for additional shelter provisions.
