Israeli forces injured two Palestinians and carried out a series of military raids across the occupied West Bank on Monday. The Palestine Red Crescent Society reported that its medical crews transported two people to hospital after they were assaulted by troops in the village of Al-Minya near Bethlehem. Both victims sustained bruising from the physical attacks.
In the village of Al-Lubban ash-Sharqiya south of Nablus, Israeli soldiers accompanied by a military bulldozer demolished a memorial dedicated to slain Palestinians. Local sources stated the structure was located at the main entrance of the village. Troops also seized a display depicting a map of Palestine.
The operation involved extensive property damage. Israeli forces uprooted olive trees and welded shut iron gates at the entrances of Al-Lubban ash-Sharqiya and the neighboring village of As-Sawiya. Military bulldozers blocked dirt roads that residents had been using as alternative routes to travel in and out of the area.
Israeli special forces raided the town of Kafr Dan west of Jenin. According to the official Palestinian news agency WAFA, soldiers searched a residential home and several commercial shops during the incursion and detained a young man before withdrawing.
Military actions also affected communities near Jerusalem and Tulkarem. In Hizma northeast of occupied East Jerusalem, troops shut down all town entrances alongside several local shops and fired stun grenades toward residents gathered in the streets.
Troops searched the town of Ramin east of Tulkarem, though WAFA reported no arrests were made there. In the nearby suburb of Iktaba, military vehicles disrupted traffic while soldiers removed a Palestinian flag from Martyrs’ Square.
These field incidents coincided with the release of new statistical data on violence in the territory. The Palestinian Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission announced on Monday that it had documented 3,133 attacks carried out by Israeli forces and settlers across the West Bank during October.
The figure represented a 52.8 percent increase compared to September. The commission attributed 1,764 of the October incidents to Israeli forces and 1,369 to Israeli settlers.
Settler attacks saw a sharp surge during the month. The total number of attacks originating from settlers more than doubled, rising from 647 in September to 1,369 in October.
