Palestinians in the occupied West Bank faced more than 3,100 attacks carried out by the Israeli army and occupiers during October, according to a monthly report from the Colonization and Wall Resistance Commission.
Israeli forces accounted for 1,764 of the total recorded assaults. Occupiers were responsible for 1,369 separate incidents.
Assaults committed by occupiers surged sharply over the month. Figures showed an increase of 111.6 percent compared to September, which recorded 647 similar assaults.
The documented violence took multiple forms. Incidents included live shootings and physical assaults directed against Palestinians, alongside widespread damage to property and agricultural land.
Perpetrators also targeted local livelihoods by burning trees and vehicles. Other violations involved seizing property, imposing road closures and blocking Palestinians from reaching their land.
The commission said these events formed part of a broader escalation in military operations and occupier violence. This expanded across the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, after the outbreak of Israel’s war on the Gaza Strip in October 2023.
The wider period has seen intensified military raids and severe movement restrictions. Authorities have pursued land seizures, forced the displacement of Palestinian communities and continued the expansion of illegal settlements and outposts throughout the territory.
In July 2024, the International Court of Justice issued an advisory opinion declaring Israel’s occupation of Palestinian territory illegal. It demanded the evacuation of all settlements in the West Bank and East Jerusalem.
