Israeli Forces Kill Four Palestinians in Gaza and One Dies of Wounds

Israeli forces killed at least four Palestinians in attacks across the Gaza Strip on Monday. Medical sources and media reports confirmed that a fifth person died of wounds from an earlier assault.

Two people died in southern Khan Younis after being struck in a separate Israeli gun attack and an air raid. A third person was killed in the central village of al-Masdar by an Israeli drone.

The Wafa news agency reported a fourth death in northern Gaza City. A strike hit a vehicle in the Tal al-Hawa neighbourhood, killing Hani Hamed Kahil and wounding five other people.

The Israeli military stated that it targeted Palestinian fighters in three strikes, but provided no other details.

Wafa identified the fifth fatality as Youssef Abu Younis. He died of injuries sustained on Sunday when an Israeli strike hit a police post in the al-Mawasi area.

That Sunday strike killed at least five other Palestinian police officers. Three people were also wounded in Gaza City on Monday when a minibus belonging to a community kitchen was hit in Zeitoun.

The casualties add to a death toll that has climbed despite a US-brokered ceasefire that took effect in October 2025. The Palestinian Ministry of Health reported that Israeli attacks have killed at least 1,593 Palestinians and wounded 5,748 others since the ceasefire began. The war has killed at least 74,609 Palestinians and wounded 175,872 others.

The latest violence coincided with diplomatic efforts to secure shelter for displaced Palestinians ahead of winter. Israeli Army Radio reported that Nickolay Mladenov arrived in Israel on Monday. Mladenov serves as the high representative of the Board of Peace, a body established by the US to oversee a peace plan in Gaza. He is seeking permission to bring in tents and push for reconstruction steps.

The United Nations migration agency reported on October 9 that nearly two million people required shelter assistance. Half of Gaza’s tents and makeshift shelters needed replacing, leaving families exposed to the approaching winter.
