The Secretary General of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and former Member of Parliament, Miah Golam Porwar, has held a high-level bilateral meeting with Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang, the President of Malaysia‍‍`s largest Islamist political organization, Parti Islam Se-Malaysia (PAS). The strategic encounter took place during Porwar‍‍`s official working visit to the Southeast Asian nation on Monday. The senior leadership circles discussed a wide array of mutual interests regarding regional cooperation and socio-political developments.

The diplomatic engagement aims to reinforce long-standing fraternal ties between the Muslim populations of both nations.

During the session, the representatives carefully reviewed contemporary challenges confronting the global Muslim Ummah alongside methods to deepen the historical brotherhood shared by the citizens of Bangladesh and Malaysia. The meeting was attended by Bangladeshi Member of Parliament Barrister Najiburg Rahman Momen alongside PAS Assistant Secretary General Sahir Sulaiman, MP. Both factions emphasized the necessity of promoting stable governance, democratic values, and institutional collaboration across Asian Islamic frameworks.

Prior to the convention with the PAS leadership, Miah Golam Porwar executed a separate diplomatic courtesy call with Nurul Izzah Anwar, the Vice President of Malaysia‍‍`s ruling People‍‍`s Justice Party. Nurul Izzah is the prominent daughter of the current Malaysian Prime Minister, Anwar Ibrahim.
