US President Donald Trump has lavished praise on Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, describing himself as a close friend and a major fan of the Indian leader. Trump declared that India can place its full trust in the United States and assured that the nation will receive any assistance it requests.The remarks were made via a phone call during a ceremony in New Delhi marking the 250th anniversary of the American Declaration of Independence.
The event was attended by Secretary of State Marco Rubio and US Ambassador to India Sergio Gor. Trump stated that relations between India and the US have never been closer. He emphasized that India can rely on him and the country completely, adding that the Indian leadership knows exactly who to call if they need any support.
Trump further noted that Prime Minister Modi has been invited to the White House. He praised Secretary Rubio, calling him one of the finest secretaries of state in American history. Rubio is currently in Delhi, conducting high-level discussions on defense cooperation, energy security, and trade.
