Red Bull driver Max Verstappen claimed victory in the Singapore Grand Prix sprint race before progressing into the second phase of qualifying at the Marina Bay Street Circuit. The Dutchman handled a chaotic session that disrupted several frontrunners across the floodlit street course. Track action quickly shifted to setting the grid for the main event.

The sprint delivered severe setbacks at the front of the field when George Russell crashed out of contention from the lead. Mercedes teammate Lewis Hamilton capitalized on the opening, charging from sixth on the starting grid to take second place. Drama unfolded on the final lap between McLaren teammates Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris, who made contact during a tense exchange. Verstappen subsequently ended the first qualifying segment in eighth position to secure his place in the next knockout round.
Williams driver Carlos Sainz advanced into the second phase after out-qualifying teammate Alex Albon once again. The head-to-head qualifying record between the pair expanded to 13-4 in favor of the Spaniard. British driver Alice Powell remarked on radio commentary that the ongoing deficit marked another bitterly disappointing outcome for Albon.
Pirelli designated the C3 hard, C4 medium, and C5 soft compounds for the demanding street circuit. Teams also have intermediate and wet compounds at their disposal in the event of tropical rainfall.
