Netanyahu Vows to Intensify Strikes Against Hezbollah in Lebanon

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has announced that the military will intensify its strikes against Hezbollah in Lebanon. In a video statement released on Monday, Netanyahu ordered the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) to deliver a crushing blow to the group, a directive that has already triggered a new wave of airstrikes across the region, particularly in the Bekaa Valley.According to Israeli officials, more than 600 Hezbollah fighters have been eliminated since the current escalation began.

The intensification of military operations comes despite a 45-day ceasefire agreement that was recently extended. Fighting has remained near-daily, effectively undermining the truce. The Israeli military confirmed that its latest strikes targeted Hezbollah infrastructure and command centers, which it claims are being used to launch attacks against Israeli personnel and territory.

Hezbollah has responded by claiming a series of retaliatory drone and rocket attacks on military posts in northern Israel. The militant group maintains that its actions are a direct response to what it characterizes as repeated Israeli violations of the ceasefire. As diplomatic efforts to stabilize the border have stalled, officials from both sides are reportedly preparing for further negotiations in Washington next week.

A full withdrawal from southern Lebanon remains a key demand.

Lebanese President Joseph Aoun has explicitly called for the total withdrawal of Israeli forces from the country‍‍`s south. Meanwhile, calls from within Netanyahu‍‍`s own cabinet to expand the military campaign into Beirut have added another layer of complexity to the already volatile situation. With no formal diplomatic relations between the two nations, the prospects for a lasting peace remain increasingly uncertain.
