Hajj Rituals Begin Monday Evening: Pilgrims Gather in Mina

The Hajj rituals are set to commence on Monday evening, the 8th of Dhu al-Hijjah, as millions of pilgrims gather in the valley of Mina to mark the beginning of the annual pilgrimage. This year, the number of international pilgrims has already surpassed last year‍‍`s figures, reflecting a significant increase in global participation for the Hajj season.A record number of pilgrims have already arrived in Saudi Arabia.

According to the Saudi Directorate of Passports, over 1.51 million foreign pilgrims have arrived in the Kingdom to perform the pilgrimage. Following their stay in Mina on Monday evening, pilgrims will proceed to the plain of Arafat on the 9th of Dhu al-Hijjah, which serves as the core pillar of the Hajj. Authorities expect the number of arrivals to increase further as the start date approaches.

Security arrangements are fully operational, with Saudi authorities deploying extensive resources to ensure the safety and well-being of the guests of the Most Merciful. Major General Mansour bin Nasser Al-Fayez, commander of the security forces, confirmed that all units are working in seamless coordination. The preparedness of the security and service agencies aims to provide a secure and comfortable environment for the pilgrims.

Last year, more than 1.67 million Muslims performed Hajj, a figure that is likely to be exceeded given the current inflow of arrivals. After concluding the rituals in Mina and Arafat, pilgrims will proceed toward Muzdalifah and Jamarat to complete their sacred duties. This year’s Hajj is projected to be one of the largest in recent history, reflecting the renewed scale and organization of the pilgrimage.

Everything is in place for what promises to be a safe and well-managed Hajj season.
