Israeli forces fired near residents harvesting olives and detained a local man in southern Lebanon, according to reports covering incidents up to Friday afternoon. The military actions spanned the districts of Marjayoun, Nabatieh, Bint Jbeil, and Tyre.
These events happened despite a US-mediated framework agreement signed by Beirut and Tel Aviv on June 26, 2026. The pact calls for a gradual Israeli withdrawal from occupied zones and the deployment of the Lebanese army to assume security duties.
In the Marjayoun district, an Israeli patrol advanced from Kfar Kila toward the outskirts of Deir Mimas. Soldiers opened fire near people gathering olives, forcing them to drop the harvest.
The patrol stationed itself on the town’s outskirts, sealing off entry and exit points. Troops detained a resident and took him to an undisclosed location.
Israeli vehicles advanced toward the Naba Ibl al-Saqi area close to Khiam, backed by heavy machine-gun fire, before withdrawing later in the day.
The town of Qantara faced artillery and machine-gun fire alongside demolition work. Israeli shelling also struck Wadi al-Saluqi.
In the Nabatieh district, intermittent artillery fire targeted the outskirts of Mayfadoun. The Tyre district experienced a large explosion near Beit Yahoun toward Kounine, and Al-Tiri in Bint Jbeil saw other demolitions.
Lebanon’s Health Ministry reported that Israeli attacks since March 2, 2026, had killed 4,390 people and wounded 12,429 others as of November 5.
Israel occupies parts of southern Lebanon. These include positions held for decades as well as territory seized during the 2023-2024 conflict, when ground troops advanced roughly 10 kilometres into the country.
