Israeli Forces Arrest Six Palestinians in West Bank Raids

Israeli military forces detained six Palestinians during fresh incursions across the occupied West Bank, local sources reported. The sweep formed part of routine operations conducted by the army.

Five of the arrests took place in Jenin. Soldiers seized the individuals during raids inside the city before transferring them to an undisclosed location.

Another arrest occurred in Nablus. Wafa, the official Palestinian news agency, stated that soldiers entered the Askar refugee camp east of the city, searched multiple properties, and detained a young man from his family home.

Troops also entered the nearby Balata refugee camp, searching several houses and ransacked their contents during the operation.

Operations expanded to several other areas, targeting the towns of al-Zawiya west of Salfit, Tammun south of Tubas, the Iktaba suburb east of Tulkarem, and al-Amari refugee camp south of Ramallah. Local sources confirmed that no arrests occurred in these specific towns and suburbs.

The Israeli military carries out near-daily arrest campaigns throughout the West Bank. These operations frequently target men, women, and children and regularly involve assaults on family members.

Soldiers cause destruction and vandalism to household belongings during the raids. Israeli prisons currently hold approximately 9,350 Palestinian prisoners, a total that includes 350 children and 90 women.

Human rights organisations report that detainees face torture, starvation, and medical neglect. These conditions have caused the deaths of dozens of prisoners.
