Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky confirmed that his forces successfully struck the Slavneft-Yanos refinery in the Yaroslavl region and the Bashneft-Novoil facility in the Republic of Bashkortostan. Zelensky stated that the operations were carefully designed to limit the oil revenues Moscow heavily relies upon to finance its military campaigns. The Yaroslavl facility is located nearly 700 kilometers from the Ukrainian border, while the Bashkortostan refinery sits more than 1,300 kilometers away from the active front lines, highlighting the rapidly expanding reach of Ukraine`s drone capabilities.
In Yaroslavl, massive plumes of black smoke were seen rising over the city following the overnight strikes. The regional governor, Mikhail Evraev, described the incident as the largest ever attack by enemy drones the area has faced.
