US Secretary of State Marco Rubio visited the historic Taj Mahal in Agra on Monday as part of his four-day diplomatic mission to India. Accompanied by his wife, Janet Dousdebés Rubio, the Secretary explored the 17th-century Mughal monument.The couple spent considerable time admiring the architecture of the world-famous landmark.
Rubio arrived in India on Saturday, marking his first official visit to the country since assuming the role of Secretary of State. During the tour, the Secretary expressed his admiration for the cultural significance and intricate craftsmanship of the site.
The visit comes amid ongoing discussions regarding trade policies and strategic cooperation between Washington and New Delhi. Beyond Agra, Rubio is expected to visit Jaipur and the capital, New Delhi, to continue high-level diplomatic engagements.
